Wooden draws in a neutral bedroom with orange features

Mid-century Industrial Interiors

This style of interior is all about raw and exposed materials. Pulling inspiration from rustic warehouses, high ceilings, unique light fittings and exposed brick and wood is common. While it may not be your first thought, you can extend this interior style into your curtains and blinds. Some of our favourite fabrics are not only eco-conscious, but are also made from natural materials giving them a rough texture and industrial feel.

Mid-century interiors are not only about raw materials and rustic textures, but also contrasting colours and upcycled furniture. A mid-century colour palette is usually guided by exposed materials - - - so browns and greys, but with a pop of colour to break it up. A popular colour for this interior style is orange. An earthy, burnt orange is a good complementary colour for wooden and metal materials and looks great as an accent wall colour or for accessories such as cushions and throws.

A few of our fabric ranges lend themselves perfectly to a mid-century interior for made to measure curtains and made to measure blinds. Our Hemp and Flax ranges have a rough texture and a lived-in feel as they’re made from natural materials. Check out Jonathan’s Stitched Home for some mid-century inspiration and to see why he chose our Hemp fabric curtains in Lead for every room in his apartment.
